Georgian armed forces, located at the border of South Ossetia, pose a threat to security of the Republic and not contribute to stability in the South Caucasus. This was said the reporters by the South Ossetian head of the delegation, the RSO Deputy Presidential Envoy for post-conflict settlement Khokh Gagloyty after the meeting of participants of Mechanisms on Prevention and Reaction to Incidents (MPRI), held today in the village of Ergneti.

"At the today's meeting was completed a study of the incident, which took place December 2, 2012 along the South Ossetian line of the state border in the area of Koda. All the collected material on the incident fully complies with the South Ossetian side`s version,"- underlined Gagloyty.
He has noted that the South Ossetian delegation once again described this fact as very negative.
"This is the first fact, after the war in August 2008, when was opened the destruction fire - reminded the head of the delegation. – So, at the MPRI meeting we have announced our position that the armed groups located in the area adjacent to South Ossetia, pose a threat to security, do not contribute to stability in the region. I also want to stress that these armed groups are there in total contradiction with the Medvedev-Sarkozy agreement. "
Gagloyty reported that the South Ossetian side had appealed to the MPRI participants for the need to create the real-free weapons zone in area adjacent to the state border of South Ossetia.
"This should be the area which is under control of the EU observers. I consider it reasonable to discuss this issue within the framework of the Geneva discussions, "- said Gagloyty.
According to him, the South Ossetian side also raised the issue of amnesty for prisoners in Georgia.
"We asked the Georgian participants, if any citizen of our Republic had been granted an amnesty, but did not receive a definite answer, but it is early to draw conclusions as the amnesty in Georgia is still ongoing," - said the Deputy Envoy.
Referring the RSO citizen Hippolyt Magkoev who has earlier been amnestied, Gagloyty has said that he was in the list of citizens of South Ossetia, kept in Georgian prisons, called "11 +2".
"Magkoev is one of the two seriously ill our citizens who have been included in these lists. Unconditional release of these two men should take place without preconditions, considering the state of their health, "- said the head of the South Ossetian delegation.
He has added that at the meeting was also discussed the violation of the airspace of South Ossetia on January 25.
"At 13:30 approximately, two helicopters flew into the airspace of South Ossetia near the village of Vakhtana located in the southern part of the Republic. At 13:46 at the request of the Ministry of Defense of Georgia the EU observers contacted us, and said that two helicopters had disappeared from the zone ofradiolocation. This has played a positive role. As it turned out, these vehicles had been operated by Turkish citizens, who had voluntarily decided to change the tourist route-they were going to Gudauri (the ski resort in Georgia - Ed.)," - said Gagloyty.
He has added that in the future to prevent similar cases the South Ossetian side proposed to designate the Georgian airspace adjacent to the airspace of South Ossetia as the zone of special attention.
According to the deputy ambassador, at the meeting were also discussed the issues related to stability at the South Ossetian-Georgian state border.
"The Georgian side expressed concern, as they said "on the arrangement, demarcation of the Boundary." Our answer was clear - these actions are held within the framework of security measures for the RSO and it`s impossible any information or political impact in response to them", - emphasized Gagloyty.
He noted that the Georgian side had expressed the wish for the rehabilitation of the irrigation canal "Sameba" in Leningor district.
"It was decided to study this issue" - added Gagloyty.
The next meeting of the MPRI is scheduled for February 22.
