A meeting of co-chairs of the Geneva international discussions on security in Transcaucasia with the Presidential Envoy to South Ossetia Murat Dzhioev and members of the South Ossetian delegation at the Geneva talks is being held in Tskhinval.
At the beginning of the meeting the co-chairs were welcomed by Murat Dzhioev, who expressed the hope that their visit would contribute to further progress in the Geneva international process and the strengthening of peace and security in Transcaucasia.
"The challenges facing our talks are crisp - the contribution to safeguarding peace and security in South Ossetia and Abkhazia - said Dzhioev.

Of course, I would like the document on the non-use of force to be prepared as soon as possible, but a negotiation process is a negotiation process, so we will step by step be going towards our goal – the signing of the important document for our states – the non-use of force by Georgia against South Ossetia and Abkhazia."
According to Dzhioev, at today's meeting will be discussed the agenda for the next round of the Geneva talks, scheduled for late June.
"I think, today we will discuss a number of specific issues related to the fate of the missing citizens of South Ossetia and a number of humanitarian issues, and more importantly, I would like to hear from you, that our neighbor (Georgia - Ed.) is ready to take an important step in strengthening of security in the whole region", - emphasized Dzhioev.
The EU co-chairman of the Geneva discussions Philippe Lefort has also expressed hope for a fruitful ongoing meeting.
"I hope we will reach the necessary compromises to move forward in the field of security and non-use of force, humanitarian issues, confidence building," - said Lefort.
The South Ossetian participants were also welcomed by the OSCE co-chair Andriy Deshchitsa, confirming his readiness for a constructive dialogue.
"I am very pleased that we have met in Tskhinval once again - said Deshchitsa. - I have a great opportunity during the MPRI meetings in the village of Ergneti to talk about the security issues, the fate of the missing people and those kept in prisons. I look forward to a constructive dialogue and addressing of the practical issues within the MPRI framework."
During the meeting Murat Dzhioev has informed those present that on Saturday (May 18) will be held a meeting in the South Ossetian village of Leningor.
"We will see the specific problems that we are trying to resolve successfully to create all the conditions for the residents and their full integration into South Ossetia, taking into account that for 17 years (until 2008), they were cut off from the Republic, and were under the jurisdiction of Georgia ", - underlined Dzhioev.
According to the envoy, the South Ossetian authorities are doing everything necessary to improve the standard of living in this district.
Then the meeting continued without the media representatives.
