Tonight in the capital of South Ossetia will be held a reception on the occasion of the Day of Russia, which is celebrated annually on June, 12. The reception is organized by the Embassy of the Russian Federation in the Republic of South Ossetia.
The event, on the occasion of the celebration of the Day of Russia, will be attended by the South Ossetian leadership, headed by President Leonid Tibilov, the leaders of the South Ossetian parties, heads of the ministries and agencies, MPs, lecturers of the South Ossetian State University, representatives of public organizations and mass media of the Republic, officers of the Russian 4th military base, the Russian border guards.
Diplomatic mission of South Ossetia has been holding the state reception on the occasion of the main state holiday of the Russian Federation - the Day of Russia- for the last five years.
To celebrate the Day of Russia, in the evening of June 12 in Tskhinval will be given a solo concert by the Russian chanson singer Rada Rai, as well as a performance by children's creative team from Tskhinval "Iron".
In Tskhinval has also been held the Russian Song Festival "Song - a bridge of friendship", dedicated to the Day of Russia. The event was organized by South Ossetian branch of the Development Fund "Institute of Eurasian Studies" and by the Ministry of Education of South Ossetia with the support of the Embassy of Russia in South Ossetia and the representation of Rossotrudnichestvo in South Ossetia.
In South Ossetia, Russia Day celebrations according to the calendar date is a public holiday and a day off.
