Questions of the media coverage of the events dedicated to the fifth anniversary of the war in August 2008, dedicated to the fifth anniversary of Russia's recognition of South Ossetia have been discussed today at a meeting of President Leonid Tibilov with a Chairman of the State Committee of Information and Press of South Ossetia Vyacheslav Gobozov.
"August 8 is the "black" day for our people. On that day, Georgia treacherously attacked South Ossetia, killing many civilians and defenders of Ossetia, as well as the Russian peacekeepers, who first took the brunt. Therefore, we must once again show the truth to the world community, to show the life in the Republic before and after the invasion "- the president said.
Leonid Tibilov has stressed that in this regard a lot of work should be done and each journalist, who arrives in the Republic to cover the events, should be paid special attention.
In turn, Vyacheslav Gobozov told the president that he had already planned a range of activities, and the heads of the national media had been given the concrete tasks.
"There will be published a series of articles in the local periodicals and electronic media. The State TV channel will also be broadcasting special programs dedicated to those events,"- he said.
Gobozov has noted that the Russian and Western media have already applied for accreditation.
According to him, all the state agencies are involved in the work.
