The Parliament of South Ossetia intends to cooperate with the legal authorities of the Donetsk and Lugansk People`s Republics. This was stated by the Speaker of the South Ossetian Parliament Anatoly Bibilov at a press conference organized by the state Committee of Information and Press of South Ossetia within the framework of the project "The Open Government".
"Currently, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic on the instructions of the President is working to establish diplomatic relations with DPR and the LPR that involves the signing of interstate agreements with these republics. As soon as this is done, we will be able to conclude inter-parliamentary agreements, as well as to establish the inter-parliamentary activity", - said the Speaker of the Parliament.
He has emphasized that having recognized the independence of the proclaimed republics in the Donbass, South Ossetia made the right decision, because it went through the same hard trials to freedom and sovereignty.
"At that time we needed some moral support of any states. Now for the people of the DPR and the LPR we are the moral support," said Bibilov.
The head of the Parliament has also noted that November 2014, during the elections of heads of the parliaments in the DPR and the LPR he met in Donetsk with the leadership of the young republics.
"They are aimed at establishing friendly relations with South Ossetia. We were offered some cooperation projects in political and economic field," he added.
