All the plans for implementation of the Investment program to promote socio-economic development of South Ossetia for 2014 are practically implemented. This was stated by the President of the Republic Leonid Tibilov at the meeting with the government and managers of construction companies involved in the Program implementation.
The meeting was also attended by the Assistant to the President of the Russian Federation for socio- economic cooperation with South Ossetia and Abkhazia Vladislav Surkov, who had arrived in the Republic on a working visit. "2014 has been a difficult year for South Ossetia, and today we can say that to some extent it was fruitful in terms of the Investment program implementation. Almost all the plans came to an end and this is a big achievement of the Russian Presidential Aide Vladislav Surkov and the team that always paid great attention to South Ossetia", - said the head of state.
He has expressed confidence that the gained experience will be effectively used in the implementation of the Investment program in 2015 - 2017. "South Ossetia and Russia will continue to deepen integration processes. Russia is a friendly country, a country that came to the aid of South Ossetia in the most difficult time and it is our responsibility to develop cooperation in the areas worked out with the leadership of the Russian Federation", - the President stressed. According to Vladislav Surkov, "the implementation of the decisions of the presidents of Russia and South Ossetia to implement the Investment program is quite satisfactory".
"I remember, initially, there were many claims in the targeted use of funds, the terms and rates of construction, project documentation. The situation was outrageous. But we are here today not to criticize those who worked before us, but to remind each other what we had at the beginning of our joint work and what we have reached," said the Russian official.
According to Surkov, at present, the parties are facing an unprecedented level of trust and we can say that in South Ossetia is formed effective building complex, which is able to cope with all the tasks. "We are ready to work on with all the best construction companies," said Surkov.
He has also stressed that the current government of the Republic has been working most effectively for all the post-war cooperation between South Ossetia and the Russian Federation. "This is the first government that has done everything to be planned. I hope very much that by the end of the year we will reach 100% execution of the Investment program. It is the first year for us that is coming to the end normally, but for us, the norm is a great achievement. I am very pleased that we have reached this stability," Surkov said.
He has also noted that the work on a new agreement between South Ossetia and the Russian Federation on cooperation and integration is expected to be completed by the end of January 2015. The signing of this document, according to the Assistant to the President of the Russian Federation, will lead the country to new challenges, both in terms of security and the socio-economic sphere, which will require additional costs. "Of course, in Russia now it is not the best time, owing to the sanctions and fluctuations in hydrocarbon prices, but we assure you that we are ready to further cooperation and the funding will be increased," said Surkov.
