The laying of flowers and wreaths took place today at the memorial to the victims of the Ered tragedy at the Zguder cemetery of South Ossetia.
President of the Republic Leonid Tibilov, Prime Minister Domeni Kulumbegov, heads of ministries and departments, members of the security forces, members of the parliament, representatives of the public, as well as relatives of the victims came to the city cemetery to commemorate the victims of the terrible tragedy.
In South Ossetia, today are remembering the victims of one of the most terrible tragedies in the recent history of the Republic. On March 18, 1991, 12 peaceful Ossetian nationals were buried by the Georgian fascists near the village of Ered.
The youngest of them was 17 years old...
12 heroes, even under terrible tortures of fascists did not refused love to the Native land, with dignity accepted death for the sake of the future of Ossetia.
The South Ossetian people will always remember the names of the victims of this terrible tragedy.
