Economic ties between South and North Ossetia need to be expanded and reach a new level of cooperation, said President of South Ossetia Anatoly Bibilov at a meeting with the Minister of Economic Development of the Republic of North Ossetia-Alania Kazbek Tomaev. According to the press service of the President and the Government of South Ossetia, during the conversation the head of state thanked the guest for his visit to Tskhinval and stressed that his visit to the republic and a meeting with the Minister of Economic Development of South Ossetia indicated the existence of a mutual interest in establishing close contacts.
"We discussed the development of economic relations with the head of the Republic of North Ossetia-Alania, Viatcheslav Bitarov, the relevant steps have already been taken. We have every reason to assume that we will receive a serious coefficient of useful actions, - said Anatoly Bibilov. - I am very grateful to Vyacheslav Bitarov, and also to the Chairman of the Government of the Republic of North Ossetia-Alania, Taymuraz Tuskaev, for the attention paid to the development of our relations."
Thanking the President for the reception, Kazbek Tomaev emphasized the close cooperation between the President of South Ossetia and the head of the Republic of North Ossetia-Alania, but at the same time he noted gaps in the work of the executive authorities of the RSO and RNO-Alania.
"We very much want these shortcomings to be avoided, we want the contacts between the Executive authorities to become more frequent, which would give impetus to the economic development of your Republic. Despite the presence in South Ossetia of investors from North Ossetia, I think there is much more potential, "Tomaev said.
He has also noted that together with the Ministry of Economic Development of the RSO a general plan was drawn up, in which it is planned to outline the contours of joint work.
"We have drawn up a draft protocol of concrete actions that could be carried out by our executive bodies. We want a policy of small and consistent steps to ensure that every person in both South Ossetia and North Ossetia feels the results of this interaction," added the Minister of Economic Development of the Republic of North Ossetia-Alania.
In turn, Anatoly Bibilov gave a positive assessment of the work.
"I am confident that we will do everything to ensure that representatives of the executive power of South and North Ossetia closely cooperate in all areas. We do not have the right not to develop cooperation, it is necessary," the President said.
