Minister of Foreign Affairs of South Ossetia took part in the 5th ceremony of awarding the prizes of the first chairmen of the Imperial Orthodox Palestine Society - Grand Duke Sergiy Alexandrovich and Grand Duchess Elizabeth Feodorovna.
According to the press service of the Ministry, the ceremony was held in the October Hall of the House of Unions.
During the ceremony Dmitry Medoev was awarded a diploma and a statuette of the of the IOPS Prize laureate named after the Grand Duke Sergei Alexandrovich in the nomination "Patriotic Education of the New Generation" under the motto "Patriots of Russia".
The solemn ceremony of granting the awards, established by the Moscow regional branch of the IOPS in 2013, was headed by the Chairman of the Imperial Orthodox Palestine Society S.V. Stepashin.
Sergei Stepashin, thanked everyone who participated in the organization and holding of the contest and who upheld his ideals daily, He has also expressed gratitude to all those who continue the work of Grand Duke Sergei Aleksandrovich and Grand Duchess Elizabeth Feodorovna".
The Grand Duke Sergei Alexandrovich Prize under the motto "Young Patriots of Russia" was established in memory of the military and state services of the Grand Duke Sergei Alexandrovich and is awarded in the nomination "Military-patriotic education of the younger generation".
The Prize of the Grand Duchess Elizabeth Feodorovna under the motto "Kind Heart" was established in memory of the deeds of charity of the Grand Duchess and is awarded in the nomination "Unselfish service to the cause of charity,philanthropy and humanitarian education of the younger generation".
The awarding is intended to highlight the most significant achievements of Russian and foreign citizens, groups of educational institutions and enterprises in the field of Military-Patriotic education, charity and humanitarian education of the younger generation.
The winners of the awards for these years have become representatives of the dioceses of the Russian Orthodox Church, creative intelligentsia from Russia, other states, as well as public organizations and charitable foundations.
