The Presidential Plenipotentiary Envoy of the Republic of South Ossetia for post-conflict settlement, Murat Dzhioev, met with the independent expert Dusan Ignjatovic, in Tskhinval, who, on the invitation of the OSCE is investigating the search for South Ossetian citizens to be listed as missing after August 2008.
In the course of the conversation Mr. Igniatovic informed about his work to clarify the fate of the missing. Murat Dzhioev thanked Mr. Dusan Ignjatovic for his efforts and expressed the hope that the recommendations contained in his reports to clarify the fate of young people abducted in October 2008 from the territory of South Ossetia and missing in Georgia would be carried out by the relevant authorities of Georgia. It was again emphasized that the question of clarifying the fate of missing citizens is one of the priorities for the leadership of the Republic of South Ossetia and it guarantees a large monetary reward for information on their whereabouts.
On the same day, Mr. Ignyatovich met with the relatives of persons to be listed as missing.
The meetings were attended by the Presidential Commissioner for Human Rights of the Republic of South Ossetia, Inal Tasoyev, and the Deputy Presidential Plenipotentiary Envoy of the Republic of South Ossetia for post-conflict settlement issues, Yegor Kochiev.
