President of South Ossetia, Anatoly Bibilov, met with the European freestyle wrestling champion among boys Andrei Bestaev and his coach Tamerlan Kochiev, the press service of the head of state reports.
Presidential Aide Rufin Dzhioev and Chairman of the Committee on Youth Policy, Sports and Tourism Sergey Zasseev also attended the meeting.
The head of state thanked the young athlete for his confident victory.
“With all your skill, you have shown that freestyle wrestling in Ossetia is at the highest level. Your first step was successful, I wish you even greater achievements in the future and become an Olympic champion. You are a pride for every inhabitant of the Republic of South Ossetia,” said Anatoly Bibilov.
Chairman of the Committee on Youth Policy, Sport and Tourism, Sergei Zasseev, for his part, noted the invaluable contribution of Tamerlan Kochiev to the education of athletes.
“Coaching merit is great in bringing up champions. We can say that Tamerlan Kochiev is not just a mentor, but also a close friend to his pupils,” said Sergey Zasseev.
In turn, Tamerlan Kochiev thanked the President for the warm welcome and told about his future plans.
An athlete of the South Ossetian freestyle wrestling section, Andrei Bestaev, has recently become the European freestyle wrestling champion. At the competition for boys under 18 in Faenza (Italy), Bestaev played in the Russian national team.
