The route Tskhinval - Vladikavkaz - Sukhum will run all year round.
South Ossetia and Abkhazia signed an agreement on international motor traffic. The document was signed between the State Administration of the Republic of Abkhazia for Transport and the Committee on Industry, Transport and Energy of the Republic of South Ossetia.
The event was attended by Ambassador of the Republic of South Ossetia to the Republic of Abkhazia Oleg Botsiev, Head of the Department of Strategic Cooperation Jemal Bganba.
The document was signed by the head of the State Administration of Transport of the Republic of Abkhazia Robestan Gablia, and by the Chairman of the Industry, Transport and Energy Committee of South Ossetia Batradz Sanakoev.
As noted by Rovestan Gablia, this is another step towards the rapprochement of the fraternal peoples. “The signed Agreement is socially significant. The route Tskhinval - Vladikavkaz - Sukhum will run all year round,” Gablia stressed.
For his part, Batradz Sanakoev said: “We have taken another step towards strengthening economic ties between the fraternal republics, including in the field of tourism. In Soviet times, Abkhazia was a tourist center, and now in South Ossetia, the tourist industry is developing, and its own travel agencies will be opened. The signed Agreement will give an additional impetus to the promotion of this industry.”
The delegation of the Republic of South Ossetia arrived in the Republic of Abkhazia on a working visit. The delegation includes the Chairman of the Committee on Industry, Transport and Energy of the Republic of South Ossetia Batradz Sanakoev, the head of the transport department of the Committee on Industry, Transport and Energy of the Republic of South Ossetia Timur Besaev.
