The Leningor district court ruled against the violator of the state border of South Ossetia with Georgia, Vazha Gaprindashvili, the KGB of South Ossetia reports.
“On November 15, 2019, by a decision of the Leningor District Court regarding the previously detained Georgian citizen Gaprindashvili Vazh Dzhondoevich, a preventive measure was taken in the form of detention for the duration of the preliminary investigation (for a period of 2 months),” the KGB statement said.
Earlier it was reported that the border guards of South Ossetia had detained four Georgian citizens for violating the state border.
On the section of the state border of the Republic with Georgia in the vicinity of the settlements of Akhmadz and Orchosan of the Leningor District, four citizens of Georgia were detained on November 9 and 11 for violating the state border of South Ossetia by South Ossetia. Among them Zadishvili Ramazi Archilovich, born in 1961, resident of Tbilisi, Michelashvili David Iraklievich, born in 1977, resident of the village of Gremishevi, Dusheti municipality, Gaprindashvili Vazha Dzhondoevich, born in 1961, a resident of Tbilisi and Tukhiashvili Zurab Zakarievich, born in 1956, resident of the village of Kodistskaro of the Caspian municipality.
On November 13, three offenders were brought to administrative responsibility in the form of a fine with the subsequent expulsion from the Republic.
"In relation to Gaprindashvili V.D. KGB inquiry bodies opened a criminal case under Art. 322 of the Criminal Code (illegal border crossing). It was established that the indicated Georgian citizen deliberately crossed the line of the state border of the Republic,” the KGB RSO said.
