South Ossetia delivered a monument to the fallen warriors in Donetsk

The head of the Donetsk People’s Republic Denis Pushilin proposed to erect a monument to the fallen heroes of the DPR from invalids of the South Ossetian war by May 11, to the Independence Day of the DPR with the participation of the President of South Ossetia Anatoly Bibilov. He stated this at a meeting with a delegation of the Support Fund for the Wounded, and Disabled during the Hostilities in South Ossetia from 1989 to 2008, which paid a working visit to the DPR.

According to the head of the Fund, Madina Plieva, in early March representatives of the Fund left for Donetsk, where they had meetings at the highest level, as well as a number of working dialogues.

“The main goal of our visit is to deliver and erect a monument to the fallen heroes of Donetsk on behalf of our Republic,” Plieva said. - At customs we were met by Radislav Gagiev and Aslan Besaev, together with the disabled people of Donetsk. On the same day, we visited School No. 4 - Cadet Corps named after Alexander Zakharchenko. Future Donetsk servicemen met the South Ossetian delegation with a ceremonial march.”

South Ossetian representatives brought wreaths and flowers, mineral water and much more. According to Plieva, the delegation paid tribute to the heroes of Donetsk - they laid eyelids and flowers at the monument to the first president of the DPR, Alexander Zakharchenko, and the hero of Donetsk Oleg Mamiev (Mamai).

Moreover, the Supreme Commander stood next to us, side by side in the most difficult years for South Ossetia. And he immediately supported us with the idea of ​​erecting a monument in Donetsk from soldiers - invalids of our Republic, without hesitation and provided all the necessary help,” Plieva said at the meeting.

We were also received by the head of the DPR legislative body, Vladimir Bidevka, with whom we had a warm conversation about further cooperation and work. “He noted our visit with great gratitude and emphasized that he would provide all the necessary assistance to establish the monument,” said the head of the fund.

In addition, representatives of South Ossetia met with the Chairman of the Orthodox Brotherhood of St. George, the head of the board of the committee for the disabled, veterans of the war, labor and law enforcement agencies, Alexander Dyakov.

On the third day, according to Plieva, they visited the wounded in hospitals and presented them gifts from South Ossetia. They warmly welcomed us, asked about the current situation in the Republic, about military stories, in a word, the military comrades of Donetsk and South Ossetia had a lot in common.

“The difficult war years, devastation, the constant readiness to repel the aggressor, South Ossetian hospitals, etc., again appeared before our eyes. Even time does not heal the wounds,” she said tearfully.

South Ossetia was the first to recognize the independence of Donetsk and Lugansk, and since then there is close cooperation in various areas. Earlier, Madina Plieva said that it was thanks to the help of the President of South Ossetia that a memorial stone would be erected on behalf of the foundation for the guys fallen in battles in the DPR. They also try to provide humanitarian assistance to the peoples of the republics, and have already sent several goods to the DPR, and Defense Minister Ibrahim Gasseev helps them in a charity mission.

In the future, the Fund intends to continue providing all possible assistance to the fraternal republic.
