On August 8, on the territory of the Embassy of the Republic of South Ossetia in Moscow, the State flag of the Republic of South Ossetia was lowered. According to the press service of the diplomatic mission, the participants of the commemorative action honored the memory of the victims with a minute of silence.
The event was attended by Ambassador of the Republic of South Ossetia Znaur Gassiev, the First Deputy Chairman of the Parliament of the North Ossetia-Alania Alexander Totoonov, rector of the Alan Compound in Moscow Vyacheslav Dzheyranov, the Chairman of the Council of the Moscow Ossetian Community Alan Abaev, the staff of the permanent mission of the Republic of North Ossetia-Alania.
The Embassy of the Republic in the Russian Federation, following the recommendations of the administrative authorities of the host country, refrained from holding mass events dedicated to the 12th anniversary of the Georgia's aggression against South Ossetia.
