As of the morning of December 29, 87 patients with COVID-19 are being treated in the "red zones" of the Republican Multidisciplinary Medical Center (RMMC) of South Ossetia, Eleonora Dzhioeva, the chief infectious disease specialist of the Republic, told IA “Res " .

“Currently, there are 39 patients in the infectious building of the RMMC, and 48 in the building of the children's hospital. Three patients are in the intensive care unit,” the doctor said.

According to Dzhioeva, ten patients were admitted to the "red zone" over the past day, eight people were discharged.

As noted by Dzhioeva, the admission and triage department of the RMMC on Monday admitted 43 patients, of which six were hospitalized.

“Seven people were referred for computed tomography of the chest organs. 46 patients were tested in the admission and triage department,” said the chief infectious disease specialist.

Dzhioeva has added, that the mobile teams examined five people at home, and two were tested.

It should be noted that among the 76 studies on coronavirus infection conducted the day before, there were 18 newly diagnosed cases of the disease in citizens.

The number of cases in the Republic since mid-September has reached 2280. Another 25 people have been removed from the register with a negative COVID-19 test, a total of 1515 citizens have been discharged from medical institutions. 765 people remain under medical supervision.

During the pandemic, 13124 studies have been done in the PCR laboratory of the South Ossetian Consumer Supervision Committee.

Until January 15, the ban on the work of secondary, vocational and higher educational institutions has been extended, except for primary schools and rural small-scale institutions, a mask regime is in effect, it is necessary to observe social distance in public places.
