Russia and South Ossetia signed a plan of consultations between the foreign ministries of the two countries for 2021-2022. The plan of consultations was signed by Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov and Acting Foreign Minister of South Ossetia Dmitry Medoev.
"Today we will sign a plan for inter-ministerial consultations for 2021-2022, which is aimed at further strengthening our coordination," Lavrov said before the signing ceremony.
According to Lavrov, today's talks with Medoev are a good opportunity to continue discussing bilateral relations and the international agenda.
"Today Russia and the Republic of South Ossetia are building their interstate relations on the basis of the principles of alliance and integration. We have an intensive political dialogue; the presidents of our countries have met twice. We have very close, rich contacts through the ministries of foreign affairs and other departments The legal framework, which already includes hundreds of documents, is being strengthened, " the Russian Foreign Minister said.
According to him, trade between the countries is growing, cultural and humanitarian ties are strengthening. "I am convinced that today our meeting will contribute to the promotion of relations in all areas in which our citizens are so interested. And contacts between people are also a very important component of all our work," Lavrov added.
