On Thursday President of South Ossetia Anatoly Bibilov during a working meeting with Acting Minister of Health and Social Development Georgy Totchiev discussed the terms of delivery of the Sputnik V vaccine to South Ossetia.

“The Ministry, according to your instructions, is considering the issue of vaccination of the population. Considering the needs of the population for the vaccine, a supplier of the Russian Sputnik V vaccine has been found. The negotiations are at the final stage. The first batch will be 2,000 doses,” said Georgy Totchiev, quoted by the press service of the head of state.

According to him, currently technical issues are being resolved, the solution of which will take no more than two weeks, after which the direct delivery of the vaccine to the Republic will be organized.

In turn, the President has stressed that many residents of South Ossetia want to be vaccinated with the Russian Sputnik V vaccine.

“Many people ask me when the vaccination will start. And our main goal is the health of our population. Therefore, I instruct you to once again work out the issues of the earliest possible delivery of the vaccine to the Republic,” Anatoly Bibilov said.

He also inquired about the supply of an oxygen station to South Ossetia.

As noted by Georgy Totchiev, the purchase of the station was carried out by a company that expressed a desire to provide humanitarian assistance to the Republic.

“All transfers are made by the company. Just today I was informed that final agreements are underway on the delivery of an oxygen station to South Ossetia. We have created all the conditions for its placement,” he said.

Acting Minister has also stressed that within a week the issue of transportation will be resolved, after which the arrival of specialists will be organized to connect this station.

As for the oxygen storage tank provided earlier by compatriots as humanitarian aid, today the Republic is fully supplied with oxygen. According to Georgy Totchiev, thanks to the reservoir, it became possible to supply oxygen without interruption even to the most remote regions of South Ossetia.

The President also inquired about the quality of oxygen and asked for clarification on this issue.

“For many years, our Republic, as well as the regions of Russia, did not have licensed oxygen in medical institutions. To date, this problem is completely exhausted and the oxygen supplied to the territory of South Ossetia, according to the accompanying documents, is licensed and intended for medical purposes,” said Acting Minister.

During the meeting, they also discussed incentive payments to employees of the "red zone".

As noted by Georgy Totchiev, with regard to debt payments to medical workers and technical personnel of the "red zone" by the end of this month, all of them will be carried out.

Anatoly Bibilov said that social support for medical workers should be carried out monthly and without delay and ordered to bring this order to the leadership of the Republic's medical institutions.
