The key issue of the Geneva discussions remains the signing with Georgia of a legally binding document on the non-use of force by Georgia against South Ossetia and Abkhazia, said South Ossetian President Anatoly Bibilov, speaking on Monday with a message to the people and the country's Parliament.
“Security issues on the Ossetian-Georgian border remain among the permanent items on the Geneva agenda. At the same time, the format of the Geneva Discussions is a unique platform that has created the opportunity to broadcast our positions on a wide range of issues and a direct channel of communication with international organizations and representatives of foreign countries. The South Ossetian participants in the Geneva consultations strive to make full use of these opportunities and bring to representatives of the international community the information about the crimes committed by Georgia against the Ossetian people. We are determined to continue active foreign policy activities in all possible areas. The main one is the comprehensive development of integration and cooperation with the Russian Federation,”Bibilov said.
According to the President, counteraction to Georgia's attempts to establish international isolation of South Ossetia and to continue disinformation of the international community remains one of the most important directions of our foreign policy.
“These are important tasks of our Foreign Ministry and representatives of the Republic in the Geneva international discussions,” he said.
