The Embassy of South Ossetia in the Syrian Arab Republic will be opened this year, - said the Chairman of the Parliament of the Republic Alan Tadtaev at the press conference in Tskhinval.

According to him, this issue has been fully worked out by the South Ossetian and Syrian parties. " Ministry of Foreign Affairs of South Ossetia has been working on this issue for a long time, everything has been carefully worked out, and I can say with confidence that the South Ossetian Embassy will be opened in Damascus already at the end of 2021," said Alan Tadtaev.

As for the candidacy of the Ambassador, the Speaker explained, "it is too early to talk about this, but the issue is on the agenda."

Moreover, answering the question of further cooperation between South Ossetia and Syria and specific steps, the head of the South Ossetian legislative body stressed that "the opening of the Embassy will give an impetus to more fruitful cooperation, and will also serve as a kind of impetus for the development of bilateral relations."
