The State Security Committee of South Ossetia has noted that the Tbilisi regime continues to take actions that contribute to the further escalation of tensions on the South Ossetian-Georgian border, the Committee’s press service said.
"On July 7 at 11.40, officers of the Border Guard Service of the FSB of Russia in South Ossetia recorded a violation of the border regime by representatives of the Georgian police in the vicinity of Isakkau, Znaur District.
Later, at about 15.00, 12 people approached this section of the interstate separation line from Georgia, including two with identification marks of the EU Observer Mission (EUMM) and three in the form of Georgian police officers," the press service said.
They noted that they had launched a quadcopter, which plunged 60 meters into the airspace of the Republic of South Ossetia.
"On July 8, in the vicinity of the settlement of Okona, Znaur district, at 5:23 pm, a violation of the South Ossetian state border by a Georgian light aircraft flying over the territory of the Republic about three kilometers was recorded," the Committee stressed.
They added that despite the use of the "hotline", the Georgian side and the EC Observer Mission still do not notify the South Ossetian side about the planned use of aviation near the state border of the Republic of South Ossetia, which actually condones Georgia's provocative and destructive activities aimed at further escalation of tension.
