The State Security Committee of South Ossetia drew attention to the provocative statements of the representatives of the Tbilisi regime regarding the pardon of the citizen of Georgia Zaza Gakheladze.
"In connection with the pardon and transfer to the Georgian side on July 14 of a citizen of Georgia, Z. M. Gakheladze, in exchange for the release of a resident of RSO-Alania, V. A. Gobozov, pro - Western forces in Georgia are trying to discredit the leadership of South Ossetia and belittle the role of Patriarch Kirill of Moscow and All Russia in the issue of the extradition of this convict," the KGB press service said on Wednesday.
The KGB has noted that on July 15, liberal NGOs, as well as the State Security Service of Georgia announced that, allegedly, the release of Gakheladze Z.M. is the result of the work of the Georgian government, which involved the so-called. "International mechanisms" and denied the information about the exchange of prisoners.
"At the same time, they refused to comment on the situation with VA Gobozov. It is obvious that the settlement of conflict situations and disagreements is not within the sphere of interests of the official Tbilisi, which receives significant financial resources from its Western curators for the implementation of overseas initiatives," the statement said.
The State Security Committee of South Ossetia regards such statements by representatives of the Tbilisi regime as provocative and not conducive to stabilizing the situation.
"We believe that the said reaction of Georgia will henceforth be taken into account by the South Ossetian side when making decisions on the possible early release of the Georgian citizens convicted in the RSO for various criminal offenses," the statement says.
