Presidents of South Ossetia and Abkhazia Anatoly Bibilov and Aslan Bzhania at the joint press conference in Tskhinval commented on the statement of a number of Western countries, which demanded that Russia "immediately withdraw its armed and security forces, as well as cancel the recognition of the independence" of Abkhazia and South Ossetia.
According to Bzhania, such calls have nothing to do with the actual situation, "they are aimed not at solving the problem, but exacerbating it."
“We, for our part, will pursue our line, because we know that the truth is behind us. We have an interstate agreement with South Ossetia, we will act together and in partnership with Russia.
Of course, we would like the new reality to be recognized by everyone, then it would be easier to solve economic problems. But, apparently, the leaders of some Western states and Georgia are not yet ready for this. We will wait, the most important thing is that we understand what we should do, "he said.
Anatoly Bibilov has noted that the majority of states in the world do not support the statements of a number of Western countries.
“If we look at how many countries made this statement, we believe that by default in most countries of the world they understand the realities that exist and, naturally, they did not support it.
We understand that this appeal was sent to many states to join it, they also renounced the inhuman treatment of our people, the decisions that Russia made in 2008. They understand very well that if it were not for the Russian Federation, our peoples would once again be subjected to genocide.
It seems to me that this statement was made not for concrete actions, but to give verbal support to Georgia. They understand perfectly well that Russia never renounce its decisions, "the President said.
According to him, in fact, immediately after this statement, Russian President Vladimir Putin approved the signing of an agreement on dual citizenship between the Russian Federation and South Ossetia, thereby confirming the invariability of Russia's position.
