The Peoples' Friendship Park in Samara symbolizes fraternal relations between people of 157 nationalities
South Ossetian President Anatoly Bibilov and Samara Region Governor Dmitry Azarov held a working meeting, the press service of the head of state reports. The meeting was also attended by the representative of the President of the Republic in the Samara region Rostislav Khugaev.
Dmitry Azarov expressed gratitude to Anatoly Bibilov for his visit to the region and noted that "the festive events timed to the Day of the city of Samara would not have been so bright without dear guests."
“Dear Anatoly Ilyich, I am sincerely glad to welcome you on the Samara land, on such bright, festive days. Tomorrow we are to open the Peoples' Friendship Park together. The opening is timed to the Day of the city of Samara. A wonderful sports event awaits us in Togliatti. Festive events would not be so bright without dear guests. I am grateful to you for taking the time to visit us,” said the Governor.
He has noted that the Park of Friendship of Peoples symbolizes fraternal relations between people of 157 nationalities who live on the banks of the Volga on Samara land. “We are proud that we have never had conflicts and we live in a big friendly family,” said Dmitry Azarov.
He also stressed that "Rostislav Khugaev makes a huge contribution to the strengthening and preservation of friendly interethnic relations and the Park of Friendship of Peoples was largely due to his work and efforts."
The Governor of the Samara Region proposed to discuss issues of humanitarian relations, cultural and economic ties.
“The aspect of the development of humanitarian relations is very important, we have a serious foundation for this. We see great potential in educational programs. It is possible that distance education and the development of information technology give us new impetus and opportunities.
We are ready to strengthen and expand cultural and economic ties. With regard to economic ties, here too we have developed good traditions. We are very glad that the trade turnover has quadrupled, but this is not the limit, and we are ready to accept here goods produced in South Ossetia,” he said.
Anatoly Bibilov, for his part, has noted that his visit to the Samara region refers to "a good tradition of establishing ties with the regions of the Russian Federation."
“I’m not the first time in Samara and I know about warm interethnic relations in the region. Moreover, I want to note that thanks to Rostislav Khugaev, the leaders of the diasporas of the Samara region also came to Ossetia. I am very glad that he is participating in strengthening relations between people of different nationalities,” he said.
The President stressed that “the Samara region and the Republic of South Ossetia have opportunities to expand economic and cultural and educational ties. “I am sure that we will find common ground,” Anatoly Bibilov said.
He congratulated all residents of Samara on the City Day and said that he would gladly take part in all the events and that his visit was full of cultural events and business negotiations.
Today Dmitry Azarov and Anatoly Bibilov attended the opening of the First Regional Festival of Gymnastic Sports of Alexei Nemov in the city of Tolyatti.
Anatoly Bibilov, during a meeting with four-time Olympic champion and five-time world champion Alexei Nemov, noted his great contribution to the development of sports in the Russian Federation and invited the famous athlete to South Ossetia.
