The South Ossetian State Drama Theater will take part in the international festival of national theaters, which will be held in Makhachkala from September 28 to October 5. As Tamerlan Dzudtsov, artistic director of the theater, told the IA “Res” the South Ossetian troupe will perform on October 5 with the play "Julius Caesar" (directed by Tamerlan Dzudtsov).
“In addition to South Ossetia, 19 national theaters will take part in the festival, including from Kazakhstan, Armenia, Abkhazia, Ingushetia, North Ossetia, Karachay-Cherkessia, Bulgaria, Adygea, Kalmykia, etc. critics, playwrights. I think our performance will be appreciated by them,” said Dzudtsov.
The festival is intended to emphasize the need to study and preserve the national literary and dramatic heritage of the peoples of the world, to acquaint the viewer with the national theatrical culture of the peoples of Russia and abroad.
All invited theaters are traditionally awarded with honorary diplomas of laureates of the festival in eight nominations and statuettes - the symbols of the festival.
The play "Julius Caesar" based on the play by William Shakespeare, translated by the outstanding Ossetian writer Nafi Dzhusoyta, which will be presented at the festival in Dagestan, was restored this spring.
People's artists of South Ossetia Wilhelm Khasiev, Soslan Bibilov, Vasily Tekhov, as well as honored artists Soslan Dzhioev, Jean-Jacques Kharebov, Batradz Kumaritov and artist Eduard Gagloyev are involved in the play.
The play "Julius Caesar" was also presented at the festival of Russian national theaters, which took place in Chechnya in mid-September.
