In the village of Zar, Tskhinval district of South Ossetia, local residents found explosive objects, the press service of the Ministry of Emergency Situations of South Ossetia told the “Res” news agency.

The department explained that an RPG-7V (Tandem) shot had been found. “The explosive object was without a fuse. Earlier, cartridges were found in the abandoned house in the village of Zonkar. All finds were taken to the landfill and destroyed,” the press service said.

It should be noted that the miners of the Ministry of Emergency Situations always promptly react to all calls, including when explosive objects are found, and each time they ratisser the surrounding area, and only after that they begin to work on research and neutralization of dangerous finds. All items are documented, taken to a specially designated place and destroyed.

In addition, as added in the rescue department, lately people have begun to show more active civic stance, and when suspicious objects are found, they immediately call the appropriate structures.

“In principle, it should be so, the Ministry of Emergency Situations believes. - The detection of an explosive object always poses a danger to human life. It is strictly forbidden to take any action to destroy it yourself. You always have to call the emergency department and our sappers will take care of neutralizing it. "

A lot of ammunition has been preserved on the territory of South Ossetia since the first days of the Georgian aggression against the South Ossetian people since the early 90s of the last century, and many unexploded shells remained after the August 2008 war... For several years, the South Ossetian colleagues have been assisted in clearing the territories from explosive objects by sappers from the Russian Center "Leader". For four years in South Ossetia, demining work took place in the territories of Pris, Isaki Kau, Novokurtatinsky gorge and near the village of Zar, the total area of the cleared area was 130 hectares, 1049 explosive objects were found.

But today there are still uncleared areas, and local residents periodically find dangerous items. Therefore, sappers still have a lot of work to do.

Ministry of Emergency Situations of South Ossetia once again appeals to the citizens of the republic: if explosives are found, immediately call the emergency department and do not take any action themselves.
