Over the past day, nine people were hospitalized with a diagnosis of a new coronavirus infection in the "red zone" of the South Ossetian medical center, 10 patients were discharged, Zarina Tuaeva, deputy director for organizational and methodological work of the Republican Multidisciplinary Center (RMMC), told the “Res” news agency on Friday.

“In the “red zones” of the infectious diseases and children's hospitals, 170 (172 a day earlier) patients with coronavirus infection are being treated this morning. There are six people in the intensive care unit,” said the doctor.

A 71-year-old man died in the medical center the day before. In total, 151 people died in the Republic during the pandemic.

The number of people infected since the beginning of the pandemic in the Republic, according to the South-Ossetian Consumer Supervision Committee, has exceeded 9 thousand people, more than half of them have recovered.

Until November 7, a non-working week has been announced in the Republic in order to prevent the further spread of coronavirus in the Republic. All educational institutions and catering facilities are closed until November 14. Until December 1, weddings, mass solemn and religious events, as well as mass cultural, sports, entertainment and entertainment events are prohibited in South Ossetia. It is also recommended to limit attendance at funeral and memorial events. There is a mandatory mask regime in closed rooms.
