Highly qualified specialists of the DPR in the field of medicine (psychologists, psych neurologists), who arrived in South Ossetia on a working visit on the invitation of the leadership of the South Ossetian State University, received about 70 people in three days, who were provided with advisory assistance.
Consultations were held at the South Ossetian State University on the issues of diagnosing the psychosomatic state of citizens (stress disorders, increased anxiety, insomnia, panic attacks, etc.). The reception was conducted by the head physician of the psychiatric hospital No. 1 in Makeevka Elena Babur, her Deputy Inna Rastorguyeva and psychiatrist, psychotherapist Lyudmila Berlyaeva.
Elena Babura told IA "Res" that among the patients were those who applied again.
“Our team of psychiatrists and psychotherapists visited South Ossetia for the second time in order to provide psychological and psychotherapeutic assistance to the population of the Republic. During three working days, we received 67 patients. The day of reception is not over yet. Those patients who came to us earlier also came. They have a positive trend, the result of the activities carried out. Patients remembered not only psychopharmacotherapy, but were also working on themselves. We are pleased that there is a result,” said the agency’s interlocutor.
According to the head physician, the population of the Eepublic needs psychological and psychotherapeutic help more than psychiatric, not only medication: “They need psychoeducation to be told what they have and what to do with it.”
Elena Babur noted that the war in South Ossetia ended in 2008, and people still remember and live with it, live,
“The problem remains relevant after the war, of course, the coronavirus infection has added its own fear, anxiety-phobic disorders. This once again indicates that there is no psycho-education of the population,” she said.
Inna Rastorguyeva, Deputy Chief Physician of the Psychiatric Hospital No. 1 in Makeevka, on behalf of the group, expressed her gratitude to the rector of the South Ossetia State University Vadim Tedeev for the invitation, noting that they are always ready for cooperation.

The next visit of psychotherapists is scheduled for June.
