Anatoly Bibilov has been nominated for a second presidential term by the Congress of the United Ossetia party

The Republican political party "United Ossetia" at the eighth congress held in Tskhinval on Tuesday nominated its candidate for the presidency of South Ossetia. It has become the current head of state Anatoly Bibilov.

The congress is being held in the State Cinema and Concert Hall "Chermen" and gathered 300 delegates out of the registered 300.

The Party Chairman Alan Tadtaev reminded that at the meeting of the party board, a decision was unanimously made to nominate Anatoly Bibilov for the post of president.

"Anatoly Ilyich is a patriot of his Motherland, a defender of the Fatherland, and in all positions, he was working only for the benefit of the Republic and the people of South Ossetia. He is always close to the people and his activities are aimed at developing the state," he said.

The Congress was attended by delegations from Russia headed by the Secretary of the General Council of the United Russia party Andrey Turchak, North Ossetia-Alania headed by a member of the Supreme Council of the United Russia party Sergey Menyailo, the Donetsk Republic headed by President Denis Pushilin and the Luhansk People's Republic, headed by the deputy of the People's Council Denis Kolesnikov and many others.

Among the guests is the first president of South Ossetia, Ludwig Chibirov.

According to the established norms and regulations for holding congresses and meetings of initiative groups, the event was attended by representatives of the CEC of South Ossetia.

Alan Tadtaev, the leader of the party and Speaker of the RSO Parliament, was elected the Chairman of the eighth congress by open voting. Also, the agenda was approved by open voting and the secretary of the congress, the mandate and counting commissions and the presidium of the congress were elected.

By secret ballot, the Congress delegates voted in favor of nominating the incumbent President Anatoly Bibilov for the post of head of state. Out of 300 ballots, two were spoiled. 297 people voted "for" and 1 "against". The congress gathered several hundred people, additional chairs were placed in the hall, but, nevertheless, many did not get seats and the party members were standing during the Congress.

One of the former members of the party tried to disrupt the work of the Congress and was expelled from the hall.
