The second round of the presidential elections in South Ossetia is scheduled for May 8, the decision was made on the basis of a reasoned decision of the Supreme Court, which obliged the CEC to cancel paragraphs 3,4 and 5 of the decision of April 14, the head of the Central Election Commission of the \Republic, Emilia Gagieva, told Res.

Having received a reasoned court decision, the date was determined at a meeting of the commission on Monday by a majority vote. When setting the date, the CEC was guided by the court's decision, which refers to paragraph 2 of Article 10 of the Constitutional Law "On Basic Guarantees of Electoral Rights and the right to participate in a referendum of citizens of the Republic of South Ossetia", which states that voting is scheduled exclusively for Sunday and voting on a holiday is not allowed, from which we proceeded. We executed the court's decision immediately and canceled paragraphs 3, 4 and 5 of the VTSIK resolution No. 39/1 of April 14, and also immediately set the date of the repeat vote for May 8," Gagieva said.

It should be reminded that the current head of the Republic Anatoly Bibilov and the leader of the Nykhas political party Alan Gagloev will take part in the second round.
