President Anatoly Bibilov held a meeting with the delegation of the Donetsk People's Republic, which arrived in the Republic of South Ossetia as international observers for the second round of presidential elections in South Ossetia, the presidential press service reports.
The delegation has included deputies of the People's Council of the DPR Viktor Ishchenko and Vasily Pertsev.
The head of state congratulated the guests on the upcoming Victory Day and expressed gratitude for their visit.
“Today, on the eve of the great holiday, I want to congratulate you on the upcoming Victory Day. This is the most important holiday we have. I want to convey the sincerest words of gratitude to Denis Pushilin. It is very important for us that our brotherly republic sent observers over the course of the presidential elections in the Republic of South Ossetia,” he said.
Anatoly Bibilov has noted that the whole world is watching the course of the special military operation to combat fascism in Ukraine and that any struggle means losses. Losses that did not bypass South Ossetia.
“Today we said goodbye to one of our heroes - Alan Tedeev, who had perished in the Donbass. It hurts us to lose our guys, but we are proud that our fighters are protecting us and fighting against our common enemy. Fascism and neo-Nazism cannot be international. I am sure that victory will be ours, that the peoples of the Donetsk and Luhansk People's Republics will live in peace and prosper day by day,” the President said.
He has also expressed confidence that in the forthcoming presidential elections in South Ossetia, the people of South Ossetia will connect their fate with the person who will continue to lead the Republic to prosperity.
For his part, Viktor Ishchenko has stressed that friendship sealed by blood is of particular value.
“We highly appreciate that the guys from South Ossetia, not sparing themselves, help us in our trouble, which is now happening on our land. We really appreciate it and thank you. Ahead of us is not only the eradication of fascism, but also the establishment of all ties,” he said.
