President Alan Gagloev sent a congratulatory telegram to President of the Republic of Nicaragua Daniel Ortega on the occasion of the national holiday - Independence Day, the press service of the head of state reports.
"On the occasion of the national holiday of the Republic of Nicaragua - Independence Day, on behalf of the people of the Republic of South Ossetia and on my own behalf, I send heartfelt congratulations to you and all the friendly Nicaraguan people.
The memory of the fateful September 15, 1821 for the Republic of Nicaragua embodies the desire for the ideals of freedom, national consolidation, and faith in the right of peoples to determine their own destiny. Today, Nicaragua is consistently strengthening its position in the international arena and confidently building a worthy future for its people.
South Ossetia remembers with gratitude the invaluable support provided by the Republic of Nicaragua in one of the most difficult periods in the history of our young state. I am convinced that our interstate relations, our cooperation, which is of mutual interest, will continue to develop and expand," the text of the congratulation says.
Alan Gagloev wished Daniel Ortega "good health, new impressive successes in state activity, and peace, well-being and prosperity to the friendly people of Nicaragua".
