On the invitation of Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation Sergey Lavrov, Ambassador of South Ossetia to Russia Znaur Gassiev took part in the protocol event in connection with the 250th anniversary of the reunification of the peoples of Russia and Belarus. Sergei Lavrov, in his welcoming speech, emphasized the importance of preserving historical memory and the truth about the centuries-old cultural, historical, spiritual, moral and family ties of Russians and Belarusians, emphasized the close cooperation between Russia and Belarus at the present stage, the importance of strengthening integration within the Union State.
The event was attended by Belarusian Ambassador to Moscow D.N. Krutoy, State Secretary of the Union State D.F. Mezentsev, heads of diplomatic missions of a number of foreign states.
