Three employees of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of South Ossetia won 14 medals at the open power lifting IPL European Championship, the press service of the department reports.
According to the press service, the team of the South Ossetian national team has included the commander of the OMON platoon, police major Azamat Kochiev, senior investigator of the investigative department, police Captain Soslan Kudukhov and police officer of the Tskhinval district police senior lieutenant Levan Gagloev.
“The first two places in the weight class up to 110 kg in the nominations “powerlifting” and “powersport” were taken by Soslan Kudukhov. Also, in the nomination "bench press" Soslan fulfilled the standard of the master of sports. Levan Gagloev performed in the weight class up to 67.5 kg and took eight first and one second places in various nominations. Levan set a Russian record for lifting the biceps,”the Ministry of Internal Affairs said.
“In the weight class up to 100 kg in the nomination “People's bench press”, Azamat Kochiev took 1st and 2nd places. Also, in the nomination "bench press without equipment" he has become the third,”added the department.
The IPL European Open Powerlifting Championship was held in the city of Dolgoprudny. Athletes from all regions of Russia, near and far abroad, who have reached the age of 15 and have the appropriate sports and technical training, were allowed to participate in the championship.
