Vice President Badra Gunba visited the South Ossetian Embassy in Abkhazia to commemorate those killed during the five-day war in August 2008 in South Ossetia.
On behalf of the President and the people of Abkhazia, Badra Gunba expressed the words of support to the fraternal, long-suffering people of South Ossetia, writes Apsnypress.
“15 years have passed since the beginning of those tragic events that affected the entire people of South Ossetia. Despite the fact that at that time the negotiation process was underway, the Georgian authorities decided to occupy the Republic of South Ossetia by military means,” he has reminded.
Gunba has noted that thanks to the bravery, courage and steadfastness of the people of South Ossetia, as well as the decisive and coordinated actions of the leadership of the Russian Federation, Georgia was forced to peace.
