Representatives of South Ossetia are taking part in the World Thematic Conference of Russian Compatriots Living Abroad.
The event started in Moscow on Wednesday. South Ossetia is represented at the forum by members of the public organization “Rossy” - Deputy Chairman of the Coordination Council of the Organization of Russian Compatriots (KSORS) in the Republic Svetlana Kotaeva and the KSORS member Angela Bukovskaya.
As told to IA “Res” by Bukovskaya, the theme of this year’s conference was “Strengthening traditional spiritual and moral values - the key to the unity of Russian compatriots.”
“During the conference, plenary discussions will be held on the topic: “The role of compatriots in preserving Russian moral values, culture and historical memory”, “Spiritual traditions of Russian diaspora”. Also, as part of the event, the work of visiting sections will be organized on the protection of family values and the cultural identity of compatriots, the promotion of traditional values in the information environment of the Russian abroad, etc.,” Bukovskaya said.
More than 150 representatives from 82 countries are participating in the conference. At the final plenary meeting, it is planned to adopt the final resolution of the conference.
