The National Unity Day symbolizes the cohesion and unity of the Russian people. We have come a very long way together, we have common historical roots, noted President of South Ossetia Alan Gagloev, speaking at the grand reception in Tskhinval on the eve of the holiday - November 4, on Friday.
“Patriotism is the force that unites us. Together with you, we are citizens of a strong state that has a great past, a decent present and a bright future,” Gagloev said.
The President has noted that today, Russian servicemen, including the guys from South Ossetia, who are also citizens of the Russian Federation, are together defending our common history and fighting fascism.
“I am sure that victory will be ours. History has proven more than once that the unity of people always leads to victory. Today, on such a festive day, I want to wish you all good health, prosperity, peace and kindness,” Alan Gagloev has added.
The guests of the evening were welcomed by the head of the Rossotrudnichestvo representative office in the Republic, Sergei Komissarov.
“In today's realities, it is impossible to underestimate the importance and relevance of this holiday. It is important for peoples of Russia and South Ossetia, and that is why they celebrate the National Unity Day together,” Komissarov said.
According to Russian Ambassador to the Republic Marat Kulakhmetov, the National Unity Day is a holiday of understanding the greatness and historical value of the Motherland with a long history.
“No other state has so many nationalities, religions and time zones, only Russia. Its historical path was difficult, but nevertheless glorious. Every resident of our vast Motherland was doing everything to create a bright future for their descendants,” he has noted.
The Ambassador has added that despite many wars and enemies, Russia withstood the tests thanks to its multinational people, who in the most difficult times united and repelled their enemies.
“Today we are again going through difficult times, when the united West has piled on our Motherland. We are feeling this, but our warriors, who are now in the special military operation zone, have rallied and are fighting fascism for our future. We must win, and we will win,” the Ambassador said and wished everyone good health and prosperity.
In honor of the holiday, the Lyudmila Zykina State Academic Russian Folk Group "Russia" performed at the celebration.
The reception was organized by the Russian House in Tskhinval.
It was attended by representatives of the South Ossetian authorities, employees of the Russian Embassy, Russian compatriots, the public, etc.
On November 4, the people of South Ossetia together with Russia will celebrate National Unity Day. This holiday symbolizes the day of unity of different peoples.
National Unity Day is one of the youngest public holidays. It has been celebrated on November 4 since 2005.
