Director of the Galaev Foundation spoke about the results of the exhibition “Caucasus-Ural”: connecting ties” in Yekaterinburg

The exhibition “Caucasus - Ural: connecting ties” was held in Yekaterinburg, dedicated to the production of the first Ossetian musical drama by Boris Galaev “Narty Batradz” in 1942-1943.

As told by the Chairman of the Yekaterinburg Society of the Ossetian Culture, director of the B. Galaev Cultural Foundation. Honored Artist of South Ossetia Liana Gagloite to IA “RES”, the event had become another bridge of friendship and development of cultural ties between the Republic of South Ossetia and the Sverdlovsk region.

“Our previous projects were called “Ural-Caucasus”, but this time, since we brought materials from the house-museum of Boris Galaev, it was decided to call it “Caucasus-Ural”. The grand opening of the exhibition took place at the famous Ural Special Music School. The event was attended by Deputy Minister of Culture of the Sverdlovsk Region Sergei Radchenko. A large number of students were able to get acquainted with the work of Boris Galaev,” she shared.

According to Gagloite, the event program consisted of two parts – an exhibition and a concert.

“In order to visibly immerse the viewer in the realities of the production of Narty Batradz, accomplished through heroic efforts in the heroic time of the second year of the beginning of the Great Patriotic War, the miraculously preserved score of the opera, orchestral parts, libretto, musical plan of the opera, poster, sketches, and program for the grandiose performance were presented, designed by the great artist Maharebek Tuganov, etc.,” said director of the Foundation.

As noted by the respondent, the presented exhibition grew into a festival with discussions and a full-fledged academic concert.

“The second exhibition also opened in the educational theater of the Yekaterinburg Theater Institute. The event was attended by Deputy Minister of Culture of Yekaterinburg Roman Dorokhin. The exhibition can be viewed until mid-November,” said the Honored Artist of the Republic.

A large number of letters of gratitude were also sent to the exhibition organizers.
