Ambassador of South Ossetia to Russia, Znaur Gassiev, at the invitation of Ambassador of the Republic of Nicaragua to Russia, Alba Torres, took part in the commemorative event dedicated to the 47th anniversary of the heroic death of the father of the Nicaraguan Revolution, Comandante Carlos Amador, the press service of the diplomatic department reports.
“The ceremony of laying flowers at the stele in honor of the hero of Nicaragua was also attended by the heads of diplomatic missions and representatives of the Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs,” the statement of the press service reads.
Carlos Fonseca Amador (1923-1976) - Nicaraguan revolutionary, one of the founders and leaders of the Sandinista National Liberation Front. In 1957, Carlos Amador visited the VI World Festival of Youth and Students in Moscow. A memorial sign was erected in his honor with the inscription in Spanish (translation): “Carlos Fonseca Amador. The Founder of the Sandinista National Liberation Front of Nicaragua. He planted a friendship tree here during the VI World Youth Festival of Students in Moscow.”
