Over the past years, South Ossetia has achieved tangible results in building the economically independent democratic state, Deputy Chairman of the Russian Government Alexander Novak noted at the meeting of the Intergovernmental Commission on Socio- Economic Cooperation between South Ossetia and the Russian Federation in Tskhinval
“15 years have passed since the important event that determined the further development of South Ossetia - Russia officially recognized the independence of the Republic. Over the past years, South Ossetia has achieved tangible results in building the economically independent democratic state,” Novak said.
He has noted that today there is an active process of modernizing the Republic’s infrastructure, improving the public administration system, strengthening the financial sector, developing social institutions, and increasing the country’s defense capability.
“Many practical problems have been resolved that meet the mutual interests of the parties. I am convinced that further work in this vein will strengthen the results achieved and give new impetus to initiatives and agreements,” Novak has emphasized.
