Interaction between Russia and South Ossetia, based on the agreement in the field of culture, is actively developing, said Rada Dzagoeva, head of the Ministry of Culture of the Republic of South Ossetia, on the sidelines of the IX International Cultural Forum, held in St. Petersburg from November 16 to 18.
“Our country is actively involved in many significant cultural projects of Russia. Projects are being successfully implemented between our states within the framework of exchange cultural events and the “Big Tour” project. Creative groups of South Ossetia perform at the best venues of the Russian Federation,” Dzagoeva is quoted by her press service.
The Minister has added that South Ossetia, in turn, has recently intensified its work on inviting Russian creative groups to the Republic.
Rada Dzagoeva has emphasized that the Republic is the excellent platform not only for Russian regions, but for other countries, and is ready for cooperation.
“Culture has no boundaries and should not be involved in political aspects, so we are ready to cooperate not only with the countries that have recognized the statehood of South Ossetia, but also with all others who will take a step forward,” the Minister said.
The Forum in the northern capital of Russia brought together leaders of the largest cultural organizations and famous cultural figures from more than 70 countries, including South Ossetia.
For three days, leading cultural figures and government officials were exchanging ideas, discussing issues of the development of modern culture.
Earlier it has been reported that Rada Dzagoeva and Minister of Culture of the Russian Federation Olga Lyubimova signed a cooperation program for 2024-2026, which will determine new areas of interaction in the field of culture.
The signed program opens up new opportunities in the areas of museums and libraries, educational programs and training of specialists in the field of culture, active participation of creative teams in significant projects of the Russian Federation and the Republic of South Ossetia, and much more.
On the sidelines of the Forum, meetings between Rada Dzagoeva and her colleagues from regions of the Russian Federation and other countries also took place.
