Visit to Abkhazia and investigation of criminal cases: Sobaev told the President about the work of the Prosecutor General’s Office

The Prosecutor General's Offices of South Ossetia and Abkhazia agreed to annually approve a cooperation program. The head of the supervisory department of the Republic of South Ossetia, Grigory Sobaev, reported this to President of the Republic Alan Gagloev.

According to the press service of the head of state, representatives of the Prosecutor General's Office of South Ossetia took part in the celebration of the 30th anniversary of the formation of the prosecutor's office of Abkhazia on April 14-16.

Grigory Sobaev told the President about the friendly and warm welcome that the Abkhaz side provided to their South Ossetian colleagues.

“During the official reception of the South Ossetian delegation, in order to strengthen interaction and closer cooperation, the Prosecutor General of Abkhazia proposed annually approving a cooperation program and planning joint events to exchange experience and information. We supported this proposal and agreed to work out the details in working order,” Grigory Sobaev said.

He has also informed the President about the progress of the investigation into a number of high-profile criminal cases.

According to the Prosecutor General, the investigation of criminal cases into the murder of Richard Mamiev, as well as the murder of Sergei Tsagolov, which occurred in 2023, is at the final stage.

The President was also informed about other criminal cases under investigation by the Prosecutor General's Office, as well as inspections conducted by the supervisory agency.
