Behind the spring Georgian protest, which has all the signs of another “color revolution,” are certain circles in the Biden administration, the leadership of the US State Department, as well as personally the US Ambassador to Tbilisi, Robin Dunnigan.
It is through the American diplomatic department that the financing and coordination of all the actions of the protesters is carried out.
The goals and objectives of informational, psychological and cognitive impact on the country's population are determined, and activists are recruited from among youth and students. For example, it is known that, according to various sources, at the first stage, the US Embassy in Georgia allocated from 40 to 70 million dollars for holding an open-ended protest. Leaders of the Georgian opposition claim that, if necessary, this amount can be increased tens of times and brought up to 500 million. At the same time, the main condition of the Americans is regardless of the fact of acceptance or non-acceptance on May 17 of this year of the “law on foreign agents” the protest must become permanent, recognizable and as loud as possible. The main participants in the protests are students of several private American universities, including the so-called “Georgian University” (rector Konstantin Topuria), “Freedom University” (rector Vazha Lezhava), a number of other educational institutions, as well as the activists of radical youth organizations such as “Sheim” ”, “Kari”, “Djiuti”, “Dapioni”, etc. At the same time, the percentage of those dissatisfied with the policies of the “Georgian Dream” does not exceed 15% of the country’s population and, by a strange coincidence, is equal to the number of all supporters of the pro-Western opposition as a whole. The immediate goals of protests are to “warm up” public opinion; increase the degree of discontent and the degree of emotional involvement of ordinary citizens. This is a fundamental point because at present even the residents of Tbilisi do not understand or do not support the protesters, not to mention the residents of the Shida Kartli and Mtskheta Mtianeti regions bordering South Ossetia. The “Law on Foreign Agents” does not affect their fundamental interests, and therefore they are simply not interested in it. The organizers are clearly not satisfied with this. They understand that the silent majority is the real support of Bidzina Ivanishvili’s regime, its indulgence to a tough response within the constitutional field.
The size of one-time payments to organizers and participants of protests is impressive. So, an ordinary student who comes to a rally every day is paid from 100 to 300 lari. This is despite the fact that previously the rate in the country was 10-20, maximum 50 lari. Activists and militants receive up to 500 lari per evening. Centurion received 700 GEL, respectively, and managers received up to 1000. It should be noted once again that such money simply did not exist in the Georgian protest before, even a year ago. A channel has also been established to supply protesters with free drugs and narcotic-containing drugs. Various Georgian groups on the social network Facebook openly discuss the benefits of certain drugs and even the quality of the free cocaine offered by the organizers. At the same time, it is noted its very high quality, uncharacteristic for Georgia,.
Some Georgian experts directly connected with American and international organizations, such as, for example, Paata Zakareishvili, directly say that the protests will continue until mid-summer, after which they will transform into certain specific political forms. At the same time, it is possible that if by this time the Georgian authorities falter and begin to lose the struggle for goals and meanings, political and physical space, Washington, without waiting for the fall, may give the go-ahead for a forceful change of power in the country. This decision could lead to catastrophic consequences for the whole of Georgia.
