President of South Ossetia Alan Gagloev sent a telegram of condolences to the Supreme Leader of the Islamic Republic of Iran, Ali Khamenei, on the occasion of the death of President Ebrahim Raisi. This was reported by the press service of the head of the Republic of South Ossetia.
Gagloev has noted that in the person of President Raisi, the people of Iran have lost a true patriot and the outstanding statesman.
“In this mournful hour, people of South Ossetia stand in solidarity with the Iranian people and share the bitterness of the irreparable loss, sending deep condolences to all the relatives and friends of the victims in connection with their grief,” the telegram says.
Iranian President Ebrahim Raisi perished in a helicopter crash. On board the helicopter were Iranian Foreign Minister Hussein Amir Abdel-Lahyan, Governor of East Azerbaijan Province Malek Rahmati and Imam of Tabriz Province Mohammed Ali al-Hashem. They all died.
