In May, 22 violators of the state border were detained in South Ossetia, of which five people were violators of the state border regime, 17 - of the border regime, the KGB of the Republic reports.
The department has stated that the border service of the State Security Committee conducted investigations into each fact of violation of legal regimes.
“As a result of procedural activities in relation to violators, 18 people were subject to an administrative fine, one person was expelled from the Republic with penalties, two people were warned, a criminal case was initiated against one person,” the KGB listed.
The Border Service of the Committee drew the attention of citizens and guests of the Republic planning their trips to the places of rest, weddings and memorial events in the settlements located within the border zone of the Republic of South Ossetia to the need to have identity documents (passport, service ID, birth certificate for minors, and for foreign citizens - also passes to the border zone).
They also warned that deliberate violation of the legal regimes established at the state border and border territory entailed not only administrative but also criminal liability.
