South Ossetia honored the fallen peacekeepers

Memorial events were held in Tskhinval in honor of the 32nd anniversary of the introduction of the Joint Peacekeeping Forces (JPKF) into the Republic of South Ossetia.

The leadership of the Republic, headed by President of South Ossetia Alan Gagloev, Russian Ambassador to South Ossetia Marat Kulakhmetov, military personnel, and representatives of the public took part in the ceremony of laying flowers at the memorial stele.

Also in the morning, memorial services for the fallen peacekeepers were held in the Church of the Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary and the Holy Trinity.

On July 14, 1992, based on the agreement "On the principles of settlement of the Georgian-Ossetian conflict", signed in Sochi on June 24, 1992 by the leaders of Russia, Georgia, South and North Ossetia, Joint Peacekeeping Forces were introduced into the territory of the Republic, stopping the Georgian aggression that has begun in November 1989.
