The II International Medical Conference held in Tskhinval is a unique opportunity to discuss current healthcare issues, exchange experience and knowledge, as well as deepen cooperation in the field of medicine, South Ossetian President Alan Gagloev said, speaking at the opening of the large-scale event.
The medical conference, dedicated to the practical aspects of healthcare, started on Monday at theSouth-Ossetia State University. It began with a film about the restoration of South Ossetia after the August 2008 war.
“For the first time, our Republic is hosting such a large-scale international conference and I am glad to welcome here the delegation headed by Russian Health Minister Mikhail Murashko,” the President said.
The head of state has emphasized that holding this event is the important step towards strengthening cooperation between healthcare specialists of friendly countries, expanding interaction in solving urgent problems of modern medicine, as well as creating new opportunities for the healthcare system of South Ossetia.
“The participation of leading Russian specialists in the field of cardiology, oncology, pediatrics, etc. is of particular importance. I am confident that their knowledge and experience will give a significant impetus to the development of specialized branches of medicine in the Republic. We highly appreciate the opportunity to exchange advanced ideas and innovative approaches in the field of healthcare and social rehabilitation. The round table, where current issues of rehabilitation will be discussed, is also important,” Gagloev has emphasized.
The President has added that these discussions will help to develop effective solution to improve the quality of life of citizens.
The head of state wished all conference participants fruitful work and interesting discussions.
