South Ossetia took active part in the VIII International scientific and practical conference dedicated to the protection of human rights to health care.
The Commissioner for Children's Rights of South Ossetia Aelita Dzhioeva and Commissioner for Human Rights Inal Tasoev represented the Republic at this important forum.
In her commentary to IA "Res”, Dzhioeva has noted the importance of international cooperation, which allows for the exchange of experience and best practices in the field of human rights protection.
"The most important thing that I liked about the conference format is that we were cooperating in the international format and understood that the most important thing in life is peace, creation and the protection of human rights. This year's theme, the right to health care, is extremely relevant for us. We talked about the situation in South Ossetia, how we protect this right, shared the results of our work and the existing problems,” the ombudsman has shared.
She has also emphasized that the task of the ombudsman is to join forces with the executive authorities to create conditions for the full protection of the rights, freedoms and legitimate interests of minors.
Dzhioeva said that the conference discussed issues of further cooperation with colleagues, including the possibility of signing a memorandum of friendship and cooperation with the People's Defender of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela Alfredo Jose Ruiz Angulo.
Aelita Dzhioeva has also shared her impressions of participating in last year's conference, emphasizing that it gave many useful ideas and directions for the work of the ombudsman's office in South Ossetia. During the year, the employees of the ombudsman's office took part in training seminars from Kutafin University, the knowledge gained was actively applied in practice, including at the meetings with students and parents.
"I would like to express my gratitude to the organizers of the conference and personally to the Russian Human Rights Commissioner Tatyana Moskalkova for the invitation and the high level of the event. Such forums allow us to gain new experience and knowledge that will be useful in our future work," Dzhioeva said.
The international conference brought together the ombudsmen from more than 50 countries, representatives of international organizations and government bodies.
