South Ossetian President Alan Gagloev expressed condolences over the death of the Republic's Ambassador to Abkhazia Oleg Botsiev, the press service of the head of state reports.
"Oleg Ilyich dedicated his life to serving the Fatherland, worthily represented South Ossetia in fraternal Abkhazia, and made a significant contribution to the development of the South Ossetian-Abkhaz relations, strengthening friendship and mutual understanding between our peoples. His dedication to his work, professionalism and high human qualities earned him the deep respect of the colleagues and friends," he has noted.
The President expressed his sincere condolences to Botsiev's family and friends, his friends and colleagues.
Oleg Botsiev passed away on Thursday, August 28. He headed the diplomatic mission of South Ossetia in Abkhazia since 2013.
