The Central Election Committee of South Ossetia has registered Alan Kochiev ( a trainer of the weightlifting juvenile sports school) as the candidate for presidents. As IA RES has been informed at the Central Election Committee of the RSO, from now on Kochiev has the right to begin the canvassing campaign.
On September, 19 the President of South Ossetia Eduard Kokoity has met in Tskhinval with the state Tuvalu delegation led by the Prime Minister Villi Telavi. It has been informed IA RES at the Presidential Administration of the RSO. During the meeting Eduard Kokoity has underlined that South Ossetia is ready to establish the closest and friendly relations between the two states. «In spite of the fact that the geographical distance between our states is too long, we are always ready to co-operate with the progressive states which respect and appreciate people`s struggle for independence. South Ossetia has undergone the ordeals. But our people have withstood the force and have achieved their main objective - independence and the international recognition», - Kokoity has declared. In turn, Villi Telavi has thanked Eduard Kokoity for the warm reception, having noted that he is glad to visit South Ossetia.
The Pacific state Tuvalu has recognized the independence of South Ossetia. The joint statement on establishing diplomatic relations between South Ossetia and Tuvalu has been signed on September, 19 in Tskhinval. The document has been signed by the Prime Minister of Tuvalu Villi Telavi and the President of the RSO Eduard Kokoity. It has been informed the IA "Res" at the Ministry for Foreign Affairs of the RSO.
The Central Election Committee of the RSO has accepted five more documents set from the initiative groups nominating the following candidates for the Presidency of the Republic: Merab Chigoev (the deputy of the RSO Parliament),Khokh Gagloev (a businessman), Akhsar Vaneev (a businessman), Alan Pliev (the Deputy Minister for Foreign Affairs of the RSO), the nominee of the party «Unity«, the Minister for Emergency Situations of the RSO Anatoly Bibilov.It has been noted that for today the Central Election Committee accepted documents from 21 initiative groups and two political parties.«Except the initiative group nominating Alan Pliev as the Presidentialcandidate,no one of the othershas been registered at the Central Election Committee.
The Central Election Committee of the RSO has accepted documents set from the initiative groups nominating Georgy Kabisov (the chairman of the State Committee for information and mass communications of the RSO) and Soslan Tedeev (commanding officer) for the presidency.
On September, 20, in day of celebrating the 21st anniversary of the Republic Day the first Russian- South Ossetian business forum «Construction of the modern state through effective economy» will be held in South Ossetia. The main objective of the Forum – is economic promotion in South Ossetia, strengthening economic relations with Russia, and also attraction of foreign investments in the economy of South Ossetia.
The official delegation of the Republic of South Ossetia led by the deputy of the RSO Parliament, the Chairman of the RSO Union of Writers Meliton Kazity has taken part in celebrations on the occasion of the 21st anniversary of declaration of the Trans-Dniester Moldavian Republic. As Meliton Kazity has informed the news agency "Res", during the trip to Transdniestria the South-Ossetian delegation was received by the President of the Trans-Dniester Moldavian Republic Igor Smirnov. «The issues of cooperation between the two republics have been discussed during the meeting. Our delegation has initiated to update the agreement on recognition of independence of Transdniestria by South Ossetia and Abkhazia, signed in 2006. We consider that now after the recognition of independence of South Ossetia by Russia this agreement should move on to the new level», - Kaziev has noted.
In Tskhinval the pre-election situation in South Ossetia was discussed at the meeting of the President of the RSO Eduard Kokoity with the Republican public. Having noticed that for today the situation in the Republic is quiet and stable, the head of the state, at the same time has warned those who try to strain the conditions and break the current legislation. «Election campaign always happens heavy, ambitious.
Since August, 23rd the field hospital of the All-Russia Medical Centre of Accidents "Protection" has been functioning in Leningorskiy district of South Ossetia. Physicians of the largest medical centers of Russia are rendering medical aid not only to inhabitants of the district. The local population is pleased with the opportunity to receive the free of charge aid of the Russian experts. As reported by the news agency "Res[i]" neuropathologists and cardiologists are in great demand among the population of the district. «Besides experts of all directions are working in the hospital.
Lately the so-called «peace march» planned by Georgia is being actively discussed in mass-media. In this action under the pretext of «returning of refugees in their houses» it is supposed participation of people who are not refugees at all; in due time they have absolutely voluntarily left the territory of South Ossetia, having yielded to propaganda of the official Tbilisi. The fact that the action is not being arranged by public organizations, but by special services of Georgia, causes some vigilance. Actually, it`s obvious, that a large-scale provocation is planned.
